LAB exterior paint

Depending on the colour, substrate and location, LAB exterior paint gloss has a maintenance cycle of 10 to 12 years and LAB exterior paint satin has an expected maintenance cycle of 4 to 8 years.

Painting outside? Plan it well

Plan your garden painting well, because you definitely want to avoid rain and excessively warm temperatures. Do not paint below 10 or above 30 degrees. The ideal temperature is around 19 or 20 degrees. This is often between the beginning of April and the end of September. Why? At too low temperatures, drying takes too long, which can cause cracking. On the other hand, too warm weather causes the paint to dry too quickly, which can lead to ugly bubbles.

For example, if you only paint your garden furniture, you can also do this under a canopy or just inside. Then keep in mind that the surface outside is dry or your interior space is well ventilated.

How do you calculate the required quantity? Measure the length and width of the surface you are going to treat. Multiply this by each other and then divide this by the consumption per kilo. Now you know how many litres you need for 1 layer. For example: for a surface of 5 mx 2 m (10 m² : 17 m² = 0.6 litres) you need 0.6 litres of LAB exterior paint for 1 layer (calculated with a consumption of 17 m² per litre).

A good pre-treatment prevents most problems. The surface to be treated must always be load-bearing, dry and free of dust and grease. Read the product advice for more information about the correct pre-treatment. Always apply LAB exterior paint in 2 layers for an optimal and durable result.
