MATTE MUURVERF, CHALK OF BETON: WELKE VERF KIES JIJ?

MATTE WALL PAINT, CHALK OR CONCRETE: WHICH PAINT DO YOU CHOOSE?

Are you itching to give your walls a whole new look? Then, in addition to the color, you will also have to make a decision about the type of paint. All our LAB colors are not only available as matte wall paint, but also as lime paint and concrete paint. Different types of wall paint. And each type has its own unique characteristics, effects and advantages. Read all about it here and make your choice!

LAB WALLPAINT: THE VERSATILE ALL-ROUNDER

LAB wallpaint is a water-based wall paint with a beautiful matte finish. This gives every room - no matter how colorful - a calm and warm atmosphere. LAB wallpaint is therefore a 'standard' wall paint, but with very good coverage and easy to apply. The wall paint is ideal for removing imperfections on your wall or ceiling, because the matte finish makes them much less noticeable. So whether you are a novice painter or have already given a lot of walls a makeover: with LAB wallpaint you can't really go wrong.

Another big plus: LAB wallpaint has scrub class 1 and that is the best scrub class at the moment. The wall paint is resistant to stains and can also be cleaned. This makes it suitable for the children's room, hallway or other spaces where stains lurk.

In general we recommend two coats of this paint and sometimes one coat is enough. With one coat you will not achieve scrub class 1.

BENEFITS OF LAB WALLPAINT

  • Calm effect thanks to the matte finish
  • Easy to apply
  • Easy to clean

WHAT CAN YOU PAINT WITH LAB WALLPAINT?

  • Interior walls (plaster, plasterboard, stone, cement, (non-woven) wallpaper)
  • Ceilings
  • New plasterwork (after pre-treatment with LAB wallfix )
  • (Sheet) materials

LAB WALLPAINT CHALLENGES

  • Even paint and therefore less suitable for creating effects

LAB CEMENTUM: GO FOR A ROBUST CONCRETE LOOK

Do you like a tough, industrial atmosphere that still feels warm? Then choose LAB cementum (concrete look) . This type of paint contains a small grain, which gives the walls a raw, lively concrete look. By the way you spread the cementum, you influence the end result yourself. And because LAB cementum can be mixed in all LAB COLOURS, you determine how tough the look will be.

LAB cementum is extremely wear-resistant, easy to maintain and applicable to many different surfaces. You can even apply it over tiles. The surface must be firmly attached: the surface also determines the strength of the cementum. It can be applied anywhere: behind the kitchen counter, on cabinets and tables, in the bathroom or over tiles in the toilet. Do not forget to apply the transparent coating in these places, so that the walls are waterproof and easy to clean.

Creating a concrete look is not complicated, but it does take a bit more time and effort than painting with LAB wall paint. The LAB cementum system consists of multiple layers and products. With concrete paint, you always apply a primer first, before applying the two layers of paint. And since you have to spread this paint with a trowel immediately after application, it is useful to work with two people on large surfaces. For full protection and an optimal finish, apply the transparent LAB cementum coating after application .

Curious about more product information and advice? Here you will find all the details about the LAB cementum system .

WHAT CAN YOU PAINT WITH LAB CEMENTUM?

  • Interior walls
  • Ceilings
  • Tiles, provided they are properly secured
  • Tables, cabinets, chairs, etc.

ADVANTAGES OF LAB CEMENTUM

  • 100% waterproof
  • Rock solid product
  • Gives your interior an industrial, robust look
  • You determine the desired effect (coarse or very fine), so always make a test setting first
  • Easy to clean
  • Also suitable for professional use, for example in shops or restaurants

CHALLENGES OF LAB CEMENTUM

  • Difficult to apply on large surfaces by yourself
  • The method of application influences the end result, everyone has a different 'touch'
  • Risk of gray stripes if the chip is used incorrectly

LAB CHALK: DISCOVER THE AUTHENTIC EFFECT OF LIME PAINT

LAB chalk (lime paint) is also such a special type of paint, but still very different from wall paint and cementum. Not only because you can create various effects with it, but also because the result is always unique. And what's even better: everyone can apply it. Perfect if you have little or no painting experience. It doesn't have to be too neat, in fact: that only benefits the end result!

LAB chalk is the best choice when you want to give the walls a soft look with a bohemian, slightly Ibiza-like look . The chalk makes the color about two shades lighter than the chosen shade. So always go for a slightly darker color. Also good to know: the darker or brighter the chosen LAB chalk color, the more contrast you will see and the busier the end result will be.

The way you apply lime paint has a great influence on the final look. Cloudy, irregular (criss-cross) or streaky… with lime paint you can make every wall special. Creating such an effect is not difficult, but it does require some time and practice. Therefore, try out the different effects on a test setting before you start working on the wall. For the most beautiful and consistent result, we also recommend that one person applies the LAB chalk and that the position of the brush is changed as little as possible.

WHAT CAN YOU PAINT WITH LAB CHALK?

  • Interior walls (plaster, plasterboard, stone, cement and (non-woven) wallpaper)
  • Ceilings
  • Woody (panel) materials

BENEFITS OF LAB CHALK

  • Always an authentic result
  • Anyone can work with it
  • Determine the desired effect yourself
  • Even with basic colours you can create something special
  • Chalk is much more matt than wall paint (less than 1% gloss) and therefore ideal to mask irregularities in the surface. Especially in combination with the colour shades.

LAB CHALK CHALLENGES

  • It is an 'open' and natural product which makes it harder to remove dirt. It is also more vulnerable than regular wall paint. You can prevent this with a sealer.
  • Inconsistency will affect the end result, so with this product, as with cementum, it is best to have one person spread the chalk with the brush.
  • Side effects afterwards remain visible.
